Alberto Mariani is a freelance photographer currently based in Venice, Italy. Alberto’s work has focused on topics ranging from politics, civil unrest, public health, and identity.
He was a visual Pulliam Fellow at The Arizona Republic and a staff photographer for Cronkite News/Arizona PBS, where he focused on health disparities across the Southwest region of the United States.
Since then, Alberto has been on assignment for The Associated Press, Vox Media, and Zuma Press, among others. His work has been featured in national and international news outlets, including The Guardian, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, Mother Jones, AlJazeera, and Le Point.
In 2022, he was selected to participate in the Eddie Adams Workshop XXXV in New York.
Alberto is available for assignments.
